Jamie Lynn Spears quit I'm A Celebrity just days ahead of the first public vote.

The actress and singer, best known for being Britney Spears' sister, lasted ten days in camp before leaving for medical reasons. Fans had speculated if Jamie Lynn was going to quit sooner after she burst into tears multiple times in camp. This week she became increasingly upset when Sam Thompson likened her to the boy who cried wolf.

Jamie Lynn also burst into tears over a piece of chocolate. The camp had failed to win their luxury items but did manage to get a bar of chocolate which they shared. However, she walked away from camp to cry, saying she was "so miserable". On Wednesday, it was confirmed Jamie Lynn had quit the ITV show.

She's been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities." Despite leaving early, Jamie Lynn won't have to worry about missing out on her huge pay cheque.

All campmates are paid after 72 hours on the show, meaning Jamie Lynn's ten day stint has secured her fee. It has been rumoured Jamie Lynn was set to get £250,000 for appearing on I'm A Celebrity, making her the second highest paid star this series. Nigel Farage managed to secure an eye-watering £1.5million pay deal.

During Tuesday night's episode, Jamie Lynn became increasingly upset when Sam Thompson likened her to the boy who cried wolf. Speaking to Sam, Jamie said: "I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much, I hate it here so much. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it here. This place is where people go to have the worst days of their lives. Dear God, please help me to make it."

"I think I've got to leave, I think I've got to leave," she continued. Sources on the show said Jamie Lynn's exit was linked to her missing her family. One said: "She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time. If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means." Having walked away from the show on Wednesday, the singer and actress becomes the second celebrity to quit this season.

My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all. You've held me up and it's been a pleasure being your friend through this experience. Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life. I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent."
