Samsung Galaxy users are set to get one of the biggest software upgrades of the year following the launch of Android 14. Google has just announced that its blockbuster Android 14 update has begun rolling out to its Pixel line of phones with Samsung Galaxy and other Android devices set to follow in a month's time.
This release brings a fresh new look and feel to Android as well as some key upgrades for graphics, lock screens, battery life and more.

There are also tons of new customisation options which let you truly personalise your device, including the ability to generate AI wallpapers and pick your lock screen.
The most noticeable performance improvements will be in terms of battery life, as Google has made some big changes to Android to cut down on background resources and extra tasks. This means you'll be able to get more out of each charge without needing to constantly plug your phone in.
To find out if the new update is ready for your device, just head to the Settings app on your phone and then tap System > System Update.
A page should open which includes a 'Check for update' button. If you tap this and nothing comes up, don't worry as it just means that Android 14 hasn't been made available on your device yet.
For those lucky Pixel phone owners—and the mega-keen Google fans who have already ordered the brand new Pixel 8 phone—you can get your hands on this new update starting today. Just ensure that you use your charger and connect to Wi-Fi before installing it in order to avoid draining your data and battery.
There are no exact timings for the release of Android 14 on Samsung devices although the firm is currently testing its version of the software called One UI 6. We're expecting it to launch on devices before the end of 2023 and here are all the phones that are compatible.
