Costa Coffee has confirmed a fan favourite drink has been discontinued across all of its stores.
One Costa fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to ask the coffee shop chain why the Ice Whipped Latte was served in some stores but not others. The Ice Whipped Latte was introduced to the Costa menu summer menu back in May and consisted of a layer of whipped coffee, milk or plant-based milk, and a vanilla, salted caramel or chocolate-flavour sauce. The fan wrote: "Why do some of your stores still do the ice whipped latte and some don’t?"
Costa responded by telling the X user that it had in fact discontinued the drink. The post said: "Hey! This is part of our summer menu. It shouldn't be served in store anymore as it's been discontinued." The X user then told the chain that they should've kept the drink "all year round" and it was the best cold drink they offered.
Costa recently unveiled its brand new Christmas drinks and food line-up. Alongside some returning favourites there were brand new festive flavours including a brand-new toastie, a ciabatta roll and plenty of Christmas side dishes.
Returning drinks include the Terry’s Chocolate Orange, Black Forest, and Inspired by After Eight Hot Chocolate. The chain also brought back the Gingerbread and Cream Latte. This year they have also introduced the Sticky Toffee and Roasted Hazel lattes - they also do the toffee latte iced too - and the roasted Hazel Hot Chocolate.
This year Costa has a Pigs and Blankets Toastie, a Vegan Turkey and Trimmings Toastie, a Honey Roast Ham and Wensleydale Ciabatta and a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie. A more traditional option is the brand-new Christmas Cake Slice, the returning favourite All Butter Mince Pie, or the vegan and gluten-free Mince Tart.
If you prefer a chocolate treat then you'll be pleased to know that the Terry's Chocolate Orange Muffin, Gingerbread Muffin, White Chocolate Trillionaire’s Slice, and the Crispy Festive Wreath are all back on Costa's Christmas Menu this year.
