If you've been left frustrated by a recent update to Facebook's smartphone app then you are definitely not alone. It appears that a new software release to this platform has broken the all-important back button at the bottom of the screen. This useful feature has long allowed users to easily return to their main feed after viewing posts.
However, for some unknown reason, it's suddenly stopped working with Facebook fans now being forced to reach to the very top of the display to press a secondary back arrow instead.
It may sound like a small inconvenience but it's left plenty of Facebook users massively annoyed with some calling it "grotesquely unintuitive."
"Please sort out the damn back button it's driving me nuts!" one user named Vikki, exclaimed on X (formally Twitter ).
Another Facebook fan, called Jason, added: "Hey @facebook fix the back button in the Facebook app for Android!! This is ridiculous!"
It's unclear if this is simply a glitch or if Facebook has actually disabled the feature altogether but fans clearly want it back and fast.
"Give us back our back button @facebook pls pls," said Facebook user Manish in a Tweet and another fan named Rey added, "@facebook can we uhhhh get that back button back?"
Mirror Online has contacted Facebook to find out if there's a fix on the way or if users will simply have to get used to it in the future.
We'll update this article as soon as we hear more.
