A woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the eye with a hypodermic needle for looking at other women.

Sandra Jimenez, 44, and her boyfriend had been in an “ongoing argument” about him “looking at other women” when the incident turned violent on Saturday. After arriving home in Miami, Florida, just before 10 pm., the argument turned physical.

According to a report by the Miami Police Department, the the man went to lay down on the couch before Jimenez "jumped on top of him with two rabies needles that were for their dogs". The report goes on to say the man was stabbed through his eyelid.

Jimenez is accused of leaving the property after realising the extent of her partner's injury. Police arrested her at the residence later that day after speaking with the victim at the hospital. Court records show she has pled not guilty to the felony charge of aggravated battery and is being held on house arrest.

Her partner was transferred to Jackson Memorial Hospital for urgent treatment. Jimenez was jailed on a $7,500 bond after a judge found probable cause to charge her with a second-degree felony. In a separate incident earlier this year also in Florida, a 39-year-old woman allegedly hit her pensioner boyfriend in the eye with an avocado during a furious row.

Karleen Biswanger was arrested after a neighbour reported the alleged assault on her 68-year-old boyfriend at the senior community complex where they lived in the city of St Petersburg, Florida, US. Despite their large age gap, the two had been living together for over a year and had been "engaging in consensual sexual intercourse", said officials.

Ms Biswanger was taken into custody on March 12 and charged with one count of domestic battery after she "threw an avocado at the victim's face causing injury to his right eye". She also struck him in the arm with a thrown "metal hanging rod".

Officials say the alleged attack followed a furious argument. According to police, part of the alleged assault was witnessed by a neighbour who contacted officers. It is not clear what exactly the neighbour witnessed, but police said no alcohol or weapons were involved.

Ms Biswanger has also been accused of leaving the scene of an accident, retail theft, driving under the influence, possession of methadone, possession of alprazolam, and driving with a suspended license, among other crimes.
