However, as far as I can tell from a political perspective there’s no difference between who was voted into office vs. who just left. Neither of the “finalists” will likely make a difference in San Jose so the outcome of this after the first round of the election really didn’t matter much.

Voting in local elections make a big difference. I don’t know why more people don’t vote in local elections. Their voices are magnified compared to national elections.

Or she didn’t have an editor. She must be exhausted from all the campaigning.

She called him Anthony Trujillo.

It’s amazing…
After all the campaigning and all the mailers, she never knew his name.

It was “outside special interests.” Of course it was.

Apparently, the California Association of Realtors and Silicon Valley Biz PAC “crossed a line.” That’s cute. Because if there’s one thing that really defined this campaign, it was the mailer — you know the one — the tasteless, over-the-top hit piece portraying Matthew Quevedo as some kind of Elon Musk superfan. That wasn’t sent by realtors. That came from her side. Her allies. Her corner of the sandbox.

If that’s what Gabby considers “raising the standard,” we’d hate to see what scraping the bottom looks like.

Spare us the lecture on truth and integrity. Voters didn’t buy the hit jobs. They didn’t buy the blame-shifting. And they certainly didn’t buy the candidacy. What they did was show up and send a message loud and clear: hard pass.

So yes, San Jose deserves better. They just voted for it.
