Hundreds of people from district 8 and district 10 came to city council, and pleaded for a Special election.

I didn’t realize Gabby was one of the people who opposed it and told the council she wanted an appointment.

The hypocrisy is thick with her. She’s been living in district 6 and telling other districts they shouldn’t get a special election.

Then when a Special Election happens in District 3, she changes her address to her father’s rental property in District 3, and runs for the seat.

Anthony Tordillos is definitely the better choice. And he has support from a broad range of groups and people.

That’s true.
Democracy dies when people don’t participate.

There are two candidates on the ballot.

Make sure you vote!

Democracy also dies when people are denied the right to vote.

In 2022, there were two vacant seats in Districts 8 and 10, because those Council members left office before their terms were up.

Because the Council was controlled by South Bay Labor, at that time, those districts were denied the right to vote — so that South Bay Labor could control who held those seats, through an appointment process.

On December 5, 2022, Gabby spoke at the City Council, as a District 6 resident, and asked the Council to make appointments to District 8 and District 10.

And in November 2024 she moved, from the house she owns in District 6 into District 3, to run for the Special Election in District 3.

Then South Bay Labor spent upwards of $400,000 to get her through the primary.

Those are some of the reasons that I am NOT voting for Gabby.

I don’t want someone who moved to District 3, to take advantage of a Special Election; especially after she opposed giving others the right to vote.

Anthony gets my vote!

I hope people who live in District 3 vote for who they think can fight for District 3 and better represent us especially with the unhoused situation. I am voting for Anthony because I feel he will work with our Mayor regarding the unhoused which really impacts me almost everyday and yet fight for when other districts and the county and state want to dump all the affordable housing and supportive housing on our city. Anthony is going to have to say no to the nonprofits, unions and other special interest groups. There is so much need right now but I hope Anthony realizes our city needs to have city needs met first. I am not against nonprofits etc but these are difficult times for everyone and there is only so much money. People do not want to be taxed. Democracy is whoever takes the time to vote.

I voted, but I kind of hope that the person I voted for loses. A general lack of enthusiasm for either candidate. I’ll be surprised if over 1% of eligible voters actually send in a ballot. This is how democracy dies.

Gabby moved to District 3 to run for City Council. That’s a non-starter right there. Guaranteed, when Gabby loses, she will be right back in her home in District 6.

The way a candidate acts on the campaign trail, is how they will act if elected.

Gabby doesn’t answer questions at the forums. I assume it’s partly because she hasn’t spent the time to know the relevant answers. And she seems to want to cater to a segment of her supporters that have an agenda that doesn’t represent District 3.

Gabby recently sent a mailer that accused Anthony of having just moved to the district. When, in fact, it’s her, who just moved to our district last November.

She lacks self-reflection.

With Anthony, I may or may not agree with him on certain issues. But at least I know that he spends the time to understand the issues. And he’s capable of explaining his reasoning.

If I had to put someone in front of the public to represent downtown and District 3, I would be proud to have Anthony.
