I’m A Celebrity sources have said Jamie Lynn Spears' exit was linked to her missing her family, after the news she has quit the ITV show.
The news broke on Wednesday just hours before the next episode, and days after her co-star Grace Dent walked from the jungle series hosted by Ant and Dec. On Tuesday night, viewers saw the star sobbing once more as she struggled in camp.
It followed two teary meltdowns days earlier where she threatened to quit the show. On Tuesday night, the episode showed her fume at co-star Sam Thompson over claims she was "the girl who cried wolf".
Sam and Fred Sirieix both told her she "would not leave" the show despite her claims, with Jamie Lynn insisting she meant it. She's now gone ahead with her claims and has walked from the show.
Sources have now revealed to The Mirror what led to her departure, while fans will no doubt have expected the move after the latest episode. One said: "She has been struggling physically and mentally for some time.
"If you look back even last week this is not a complete surprise by any means." As early as the third episode of the series over a week ago, she had spoken about quitting the jungle.
At the time she broke down in tears when she wasn't given her luxury iterm. Jamie Lynn moaned: "I don't wanna be here, I quit, It is not fair."

"Why would y'all put them through that? They feel guilty. Like they didn't come back with the gifts for their friends. This is not OK, I wanna go home." Going back into camp in tears, she added: "I just went and told them, I was like you're so effed. up if you want to put them through that.

"I think this is not fair. I quit, I don't want to do it. I do not wanna be here, that was like f**king torture. I just want to see my kids, I will stay out here with the critters just let me see them."
On Tuesday night after she burst into tears, Jamie was heard saying she hated the jungle and didn't want to be there. Calling it "awful", she even tried to use the fake phone in camp to dial out to her family in the United States.
