If you don't want to be tied to the sofa to get your nightly fix of boxsets, LG might have the answer. The Korean technology giant has just announced the official UK launch of two screens that are totally portable. In fact, its StanbyME Go model even comes in its own suitcase so you can hit the road and get entertained wherever takes your fancy.

Both the StanbyME and StanbyME Go feature in-built battery packs so you don't need to track down a plug, plus there are speakers tucked inside to provide some decent audio.

If you simply want a telly to move from room to room then the StanbyME device features a 27-inch screen that can be attached to a stand with hidden wheels. This makes it easy to whizz around the home.

The screen can be swivelled, tilted, raised and rotated - as well as being placed in both landscape and portrait orientations - for more comfortable viewing. A removable cradle also lets you place a phone on top of the screen to create a fast, secure solution for video calls.

When not being used as a TV screen, the LG StanbyME can even help set the mood by displaying artwork, photos or a calendar with clock - that makes the screen more useful throughout the whole day.

It's also fully internet-connected making it a breeze to connect to streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix and Apple TV+.

So that's the StanbyME but what about those wanting something even more portable?

If you fancy packing up your telly to take on the road then you'll want to take a look at that StanbyME Go model with this device getting a 27-inch display that pops out of its toughened carry case.

There's a 20W four-channel speaker system, three hours of battery life and it can even be laid flat and transformed into an interactive gaming table.

Those worried about it surviving the great outdoors should have their mind put at ease thanks to tests that have made it compliant with the U.S. military’s rigorous MIL-STD-810G standard.

That means it should cope with low pressure, high temperature, low temperature, dust and salt spray plus it provides protection against accidental drops, vibration and shock.

LG says both its StanbyME Go and StanbyME screens are available now in the UK. They cost £1,199.
