Black Friday 2023 has officially started as hundreds of tech deals land across UK retailers, from Sky's lowest-ever price on its streaming plan to the cheapest iPhone 15 deal and best ASUS laptop. We're here to bring you the best offers of the day while pointing out the ones that will actually cost you more.
A global sale bonanza to mark the lead-up to Christmas gifting, Black Friday is often considered the best time to buy a new phone or finally upgrade your household broadband plan, as you'll be able to lock in months of cheaper prices racking up hundreds in savings.
Not to mention it's one of the first times flagship devices from the likes of Apple, Samsung, Google and ASUS can be found for the cheapest price since their 2023 autumn launches - calling all iPhone 15, Galaxy ZFold4, Pixel 8 and Asus Vivobook 15 shoppers.
So far we've already seen the biggie tech brands launch their seasonal savings, from Samsung's worthy £250 discount on its Galaxy S23 phone to BT's £1 Sport Package and Amazon's Fire TV Stick offers, with hundreds more expected today. You could even opt for Apple's 2023 Black Friday vouchers and bag a free pair of AirPods when you buy the 16-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip.

Save hundreds by swapping Apple Watch 9 for Pixel Watch
The Apple Watch Series 9 is the newest device in the brand's fleet of smartwatch lines, so it's no surprise to see interest swirling around the piece of wearable tech this Black Friday but it won't be your cheapest option. I've rounded up alternative smartwatches that perform just as well and are a fraction of the price.
And at the top of the list with the biggest price drop is the Google Pixel Watch, as Amaaon drops the price from £339 to £189, saving shoppers £150.
"This isn't the newest Pixel Watch, as the Pixel Watch 2 was unveiled earlier this year alongside the brand-new Google Pixel 8 and 8Pro phones. Although its battery lift, tracking features and pairability still make it a top, and more affordable, contender. If you'd prefer a more updated model then you can add it to a monthly plan at O2"
Want cheaper Apple AirTags?
Ebay is currently running a promotion where you can save 20 per cent on selected sellers with the code BUYBETTER20 meaning you could save a great amount on leading tech brands.
But the deal we've found means you could get four AirTags for just £88 - the cheapest price right now on the handy devices by using the BUYBETTER20 code
The seller BuyItDirectDiscounts has a 98 per cent positive feedback meaning you can rest assured that the seller has good feedback on previous sales.
EE's Essentials Plan slashes £768 off the S23 Ultra
AO may have one of the best S23 deals around offering £300 in a combined cashback, GalaxyBuds and Disney+ offer but we may have found the best offer around for S23 Ultra shoppers. Yes, it's the biggest device in Samsung's S23 range.
And there's a mighty £768 off for shoppers who take the S23Ultra out on EE's Essentials plan, as the price drops to £51 a month. There is an upfront cost of £30 but after the full 36-months you'll save a huge £768 as you lock into cheaper prices this Black Friday.
You'll save £258 on this Google Pixel 8 Pro bundle
Another flagship 2023 smartphone soaring in the sales today, as Amazon take £258 off the price. The Pixel 8 Pro only launched to shoppers in the autumn making this one of the cheapest prices it's ever sold for.
And sticking to another one of Mirror Tech's tried and tested shopping tips, this deal is proof why going for bundles can actually save you more money, and you'll get two devices at once... a no brainer!
You can get the Pixel 8 Pro handset and Fitbit Charge 6 for £1,059, not only is the price £139 cheaper this Black Friday but it's an extra £119 cheaper than buying both devices separately - a huge £258 total saving.
Tips for getting money off iPhone 15, S23 and Google Pixel 8 this Black Friday
They're at the top of the sales today, so we're here to help you spot when a deal is really worth going for. Sky Mobile is currently offering£432 off the iPhone 15 thanks to its data price drop, AO will give you £100 cashback and a free pair of Galaxy Buds when you buy the Galaxy S23 andAmazon has taken £139 off this Pixel 8 Pro and Fitbit bundle deal.
And these are the tips I used as a tech writer to find the worthwhile deals on mobile phones:
- Always double check the storage amount of the handset - is it worth the money
- Found a good price - Is another retailer charging more but giving away a higher value freebie instead? (think Galaxy phones and fre pairs of wireless GalaxyBuds)
- Always see how long you're locked in for on a mobile network contract - buying it outright could be cheaper in the long run
- Amazon is great for cheaper phone deals (hello Pixel 8 Pro) but check the seller - are they verified?- where it will be shipped from, and if it's an unlocked device, so you can use with any network
- Compare combined phone and data contracts to individual handset-only deals and SIM prices, sometimes buying both separately works out cheaper if both are in the sale
'I got £300 of free tech with this Galaxy S23 deal'
RUN don't walk! I've been hunting for the best Samsung Galaxy S23 deal and this may just be it, thanks to a freebie trio from AO.
At £33 a month this S23 deal through mobilephonesdirect on O2's network seems like a pretty standard deal, until you take a look closer and see there's hundreds of freebies available to claim - £300 worth to be exact.
If you buy the deal today you'll get £100 back in cash from Samsung, free 12-months of Disney+ and a pair of Galaxy Buds FE for FREE.A major steal of a deal so far, and personally my favourite freebie offer on a brand new S23 device.
Cheapest Xbobx Series X price - £120 off
A gaming deal we just had to share, as Amazon take hundreds of pounds off the Xbox Series X console, it's now £359. Yes, that's a huge £120.99 saving. And £20 cheaper than the next best Xbox Series X deal at AO.
Not sure if the Xbox Series X is the best console for you? We've rounded up a few of its best qualities thanks to help from the Mirror Gaming team. Starting off with its 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD, doulble the amound of the simila Xbox Series S.
Unlike the slimmer S model the Series X stands a lot taller and is double the weight of the Series S, a feature shoppers may want to keep in mind. And thanks to its disc-drive an added feature is it's compatible with both Xbox One games and Blu-Ray discs.
If you upgrade your Amazon Fire TV Stick today you get the cheapest price
As we've shared below Amazon is droppping its prices on nearly all of its branded tech, from the Fire Cube and Echo Dot to Kindle devices and now the Fire TV Stick. The Prime retailer has dropped the price from £44.99 to £24.99, but there's an even better deal.
Our tech editor Dave Snelling has found a way to combine two shopping deals to get the Fire TV Stick for an incredible low price, the cheapest we've seen so far this Black Friday. The team at Topcashback are running a promotion which bags you an extra £15 off when you sign up for this money-saving service.
As Dave explains: "That means you can pop the Fire TV Stick Lite in your shopping basket and only pay £6.99. Those wanting that ultimate 4K Max device could also pay as little as £29.99 to take delivery of this most premium streaming stick.
"To get the discount, all you have to do is sign up on TopCashback's website via this special link, then search for Amazon and click ‘Get Cashback Now’ – it’s as simple as that!"
Sky, BT, and EE broadband plans - which one is best?
Broadband providers are going up against each other this Black Friday to offer the best deal but it's no overeaction to say it's a crowded market. As Sky, EE, BT, Virgin Media all launch their deals it may be tricky to know which one is best to go for.
After covering the cost of living price rises and money-saving offers, I've broken down the different offers to help you lock into a cheaper deal for months to come - not just an impulsive saving today that'll rise by hundreds in a few months time.
So, let's get into it with a quick breakdown 2023 Black Friday broadband breakdown:
Find the best Black Friday deals LIVE from our consumer teams
We're hours into today's sale and there are thousands of discounts flowing left, right, and center. And our shopping teams at The Mirror are here to help you pick out the best out of the bunch.
We really want you to find the best money-saving offer and not fall for some which may be cheaper in just a few months time. And whether you're just browsing, on the lookout for a specific tech product or gaming console our teams have you covered.
At Mirror Tech we aren't the only ones scouring today's deals, as Mirror Gaming and Mirror Choice have handpicked their favourite offers too. Here's our mini guide:
- For all things shopping - beauty, home, garden, toys - head to our Mirror Choice Live Black Friday blog
- For all gaming consoles and PC discounts head to the Mirror Gaming Live Black Friday blog
- For everything Apple, Samsung, Sky TV, broadband (and a whole lot more) stay here on our Mirror Tech Live Blog
Amazon is on FIRE with its discounts and we've picked the Fire TV Cube
Twice as powerful as Amazon's Fire TV Stick, the Fire TV Cube is another rival for Sky Stream. It plugs into your TV with double the benefits packed into the Fire Stick 4K Max.
It's hands free, comes with Alexa, and we be able to pick up your voice from across the room, so you can simply ask your TV to play your favourite series. THese are just a few of the reasons why we back the device.
Not to mention that it's now £30.99 cheaper, at £109, making it one of the cheapest Amazon TV tech devices you can pick up today minus the standard Fire Stick of course.
This LG TV deal is one of the best around with £110 off
TV's are at the top of shoppers lists this Black Friday and it's not surprising considering set can go for thousands of pounds. We've already tapped into Sky's mega offer on its Glass set (there's a £126 saving) but it's not everyone's cup of tea, as it's a smart TV and channel combo.
So, this LG offer from John Lewis is one for device-only shoppers - plus it's £365 cheaper than Sky. Christopher Harper, one of our tech writers, has pointed out why this LG TV is one of the best spotted offers yet.
"If you have been looking for a brand new TV to place in pride of place in your living room, we may have found the best Black Friday TV deal today. The deal is courtesy of John Lewis which is selling the LG 2023 43 inch 4K LED TV for just £229 - an extremely cheap price considering the TV was released in 2023.
"It is probably the best price we've seen for one of the newest LG models on the market and we doubt you'll find such a good on a TV for Black Friday."
Our top picks from Sky's Black Friday deals
As well as our favourite streaming deal posted down below, hello... Sky Stream for just £19 a month, the provider has dropped a wave of other household price drops. And these are our favourite.
All of these TV deals will save you £126:
- Sky Glass TV from just £33 a month
- Sky Stream now just £19 a month
- Sky Stream, Sky Sport, Sky TV and Netflix
Our top pick broadband deals this Black Friday:
Time is ticking to get Sky Stream for the lowest EVER price
Sky Stream, the plug-in top box, is now just £19 in the provider's Black Friday sale and it's a TV deal at the top of our tech editors list: "That cost includes a swathe of premium channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Documentaries and Sky Max along with full access to Netflix. That means you can binge on boxsets such as Drive to Survive and The Crown without needing to pay extra" says Dave Snelling.
It's small design and easy set up is another reason it's a fan favourite, as users will be able to scrimp on installation costs thanks to the easy plug-in design, all you need is a trusty Wi-Fi connection.
"This eye-catching deal is being made available to anyone who is happy to switch over to Sky Stream. For those not aware, this diddy device sits under your telly and beams content to the big screen via your broadband connection."
Cheapest iPhone 15 contract deal
Another hard-to-miss deal that's been hand picked by us here at Mirror Tech, and when you delve into what's included it beats Apple's own price by a mile, and it's £737 cheaper than EE's Black Friday plan.
If you were to head to the Apple Store right this second you'd get the newest iPhone 15 for £799 but we've found a deal that's a lot better. At first glance it's £50 more but this is a prime example to follow one of our top tech shopping tips; 'Don't just look at the price'.
It works out at a total spend of £849 (inlcuding the upfront £129 upfront fee) which is just £50 more expensive than Apple's own price, that DOESN'T inlcude any data! You'll be getting the exact same phone with two years worth of 250GB of data for a fraction of the price in the long run.
This Sony headphone deal is too good to miss - £115 off
Amazon has dropped £115 off the price of the high-end Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones - you can buy here.
But before you take the pair to the checkout we want to share why these are one of the best pair of wireless headphones you could pick up in the current Black Friday sales.
60-second overview on the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones:
"These Sony headphones are a top contender when it comes to quality over-the-ear sound, usually sold for more than £300 you can get hundreds of pounds off this Black Friday. Packed with 30 hours of battery life and a built in microphone you can even speak to Google Assist or Alexa through these wireless earphones.
"At launch they would have set you back £349 making this £197.99 price from Amazon a standout deal.” The pair originally launched back in 2020 but eager shoppers then would have paid more than £300, now audio addicts are getting £151 off the price."
Get an iPad for less than £300 at Argos
Dave has been shopping around on the hunt for Apple deals outside of the Apple Store, and it's here where we've found you can get an iPad for less than £300 and MacBook Air for £799. Unlike Apple's gift cards shoppers will automatically get the discount on individual products and not money to spend at a later date.
Why do we back this deal?
Here's why the deal is worth looking at from Dave, tech editor at Mirror and Express who's scoured few thousands of deals in his time. He said: "It's pretty rare to see deals on gadgets such as the iPhone, iPad and MacBook but that's exactly what Argos is dishing out right now.
"The deals are clearly proving popular with Argos confirming on its website that some products are "in demand" and "selling fast."
Our top tips to finding a good tech deal
There are hundreds of appealing iPhones, tablets, TVs, monitors, and wearable tech (to name a few) launching into retailer's sales this morning. Everwhere from Currys and Argos to Amazon, Google and Apple.
But where is the best place to start? This is exactly why we've gathered our tried and tested tips to help you spot the best deal, and it could get you up to £432 off the iPhone 15.
Our crucial Black Friday shopping tips to pay cheapest price:
- Shop around - especially if you want a product from Apple, Samsung, Google and ASUS there'll be plenty of retailers offering deals.
- Don't just look at the price - sometimes it''s best to see the terms and conditions behind the cheap looking deal, is there a smaller amount of storage on the phone? Are you locked into the phone deal for longer than you want? Is there a free accessory offered at another retailer? - These are all things to look for.
- Always check for a trade-in option - If a Samsung Galaxy S23 is on your list today then this trick would get you £500 off the gadget if you have an older model to hand, and that's on top of the £250 off Black Friday price - £750 off the S23 all together!
- If low in stock, always go for a bundle deal first - This is only one we recommend for shoppers who are absoultely desperate to get their hands on a product (like the PS5 for example) but can't find any in stock. Don't waste time trailing through out of stock retailers, instead go for a combined deal like the PS5 console and Modern Warfare gaming bundle.
We picked up a pair pf Galaxy Buds for £1
Now for a rival Samsung deal that we think is too good to miss, so there's plenty of choice for both Apple and Android fans.
To get a pair of free Galaxy Buds, this year shoppers have to head to O2's list of Black Friday deals, which is exactly what I did on the hunt for the £1 deal. And it's perfect for those with a tighter budget to splurge as it's included in a much cheaper phone plan.... the Galaxy A54 5G.
To put it simply, if you had the Galaxy A54 on your shopping list today you can add a pair of Galaxy Buds 2 to your online basket for just £1, it's a bargain we're loving!
Why we recommend the Galaxy A54?
"The Galaxy A54 5G, is another dazzling new handset launched by Samsung in March this year, and while its features are often overshadowed by the higher-end S and Z range of phones its affordable price point makes it a great option for anyone looking for a smartphone, without the hefty bill."
Starting with a freebie - Get a pair of AirPods for £0
Why not throw in a free offer first! Apple is back this Black Friday with a long line of voucher deals….so if you pick up a product this year you will get money to towards your next purchase. When it comes to buying a brand new iPhone we'd sway shoppers to other retailer's deals but the brands gift card approach does come in hand if you have a flagship device and accessory in mind.
As our tech editor Dave Snelling found when looking at the MacBook Air 15-inch M2 and Apple AirPods, as buying the bigger MacBook Air from the Apple Store means shoppers can walk away with a free pair of AirPods 2 Gen worth £129.
Apple's 2023 vouchers, here's what you get when you buy:
- 2023 MacBook Air 15-inch M2: £160
- 2023 MacBook Air 13-inch M2: £140
- MacBook Air 13-inch M1: £120
- iPhone: £60
- iPhoner 13: £40
- iPhone SE: £20
- iPad Pro: £80
- iPad Air: £60
- Apple Watch Series 9: £40
- Apple Watch SE £40
