McDonald’s has raised the price of its popular £1.99 Big Mac and fries deal.
The offer, which is available when you fill out a survey online, has now increased to £2.99. To access the survey, you first need to purchase something from McDonald's - keep your receipt, then within 60 days, enter the 12-digit code on your receipt online on the chain's Food for Thought website.
Once you’ve filled out the survey online, you’ll then be given a new five-digit code to get your Big Mac meal. The offer can also be used to claim the following: Filet-o-Fish, McChicken Sandwich, Quarter Pounder with Cheese, six McNuggets or the McPlant.
With each one, you get the choice of medium fries or a side salad. McDonald’s has confirmed the higher price of £2.99 came into force on November 1. Any customers who completed their survey before this date will still be able to claim their medium meal for £1.99.
UK fans have taken to social media to point out the change, with one asking: "Why has the food for thought survey now offering Big Mac and fries for £2.99 and not usual £1.99?"
But despite the increase, Maccies fans are still saving money. For example, a Big Mac medium meal usually costs £5.29 - although this does come with a drink.
McDonald's has just launched its new menu, including a new version of its McCrispy. The McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse contains a chicken breast in a crispy coating, smothered in a smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, red onion and lettuce in a sesame-topped burger bun.
There is also the arrival of the Philly Cheese stack burger, which is made up on two beef patties with a cheese sauce, two cheese slices, grilled and crispy onions and pickles served in a toasted bun. Chilli cheese bites have also made a return.
McDonald's has also released some brand new McFlurry flavours too. The M&M's Halloween McFlurry is made of soft dairy ice cream swirled with M&Ms and Halloween sugar shapes and topped with Galaxy Chocolate sauce. There is also the new Twix Toffee Apple McFlurry which is swirled with Twix biscuit and chocolate pieces and topped with a toffee apple sauce.
