Marks and Spencer is giving away free prosecco and Percy Pigs as it brings back its popular “12 Days of M&S” offer.

The deal works like a digital advent calendar, with shoppers able to open 12 virtual doors - one for every day between December 1 and December 12 - on the Sparks app. Prizes to be won include prosecco, panettone, Percy Pigs, fragrance, socks and Christmas decorations.

You may also find discounts hidden behind the doors, including money off wine, flowers and clothing. Once you’ve opened all 12 doors you will automatically be entered into a competition to win a £10,000 M&S gift card. Customers have 24 hours to unlock each reward on M&S.com and 48 hours on the app. Each door can only be opened once.

Sharry Cramond, Director of M&S Food Marketing and M&S Loyalty, said: "12 Days of M&S was a huge success last year with customers absolutely thrilled with the free gifts and offers up for grabs. This year we have made it bigger and better than ever before to ensure customers get the very best of M&S magic this Christmas: more free gifts and fabulously festive offers.

"It’s so simple…existing Sparks customers just need to have the M&S app ready to open door number 1, but new Sparks users can easily get involved too - all they need to do is download the M&S app ahead of Dec 1st, sign up to Sparks and start enjoying the 12 Days of M&S."

M&S recently announced plans to open nine new shops in November, including a new 65,000 square foot branch in the Birmingham Bullring shopping centre. It comes as part of a wider restructure of its business where M&S looks to focus more on its food-only outlets by 2028. M&S last year revealed it would reduce the number of its full-line stores - which sell both food and clothing - to 180. However, it plans on opening more than 100 food-only shops.

M&S has already relocated to new stores in Leeds White Rose and Liverpool ONE in the summer. The supermarket has also opened a number of new Foodhalls this year, including in Purley Way, Stockport and Clacton. The new openings will bring investment in new stores to £480million, M&S said.
