Omid Scobie may have chosen to focus solely on the Royal Family in his book Endgame because he doesn't "want to break ties" with Meghan Markle, a publicist has suggested.
The author, 42, released his new book on Tuesday, following the publication of biography Finding Freedom three years ago. Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy's Fight for Survival has attracted much attention this week.
It features a number of claims about the family and people connected to them, which have made headlines. The book includes mention of Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry, 39, as well as references to members of their respective families.

Amid its release, the Mirror spoke to publicist Laura Perkes about the book. She suggested that Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, 67, may not be mentioned much to ensure she isn't subjected to criticism and that Omid might have focused on others to maintain a relationship with Meghan.
Sharing her thoughts about the situation, Laura told us this week: "It may be that [Omid] doesn't want to break ties with Meghan completely, choosing to focus solely on one side of the family; the side that is constantly talked about in the media, rather than bringing Doria into the picture."
"Endgame has only been possible because of Scobie's close relationship with Meghan, which he's recently tried to deny as 'close'. If he burns bridges with her then his five minutes of fame will be over," she further commented recently.
A synopsis for the new book teases: "With an institution long plagued by antiquated ideas around race, class and money, the monarchy and those who prop it up are now exposed and at odds with a rapidly modernizing world."

"Relying on his vast experience as a royal reporter and over a decade of conversations and interviews with current and former Palace staff, trusted friends of the royals and even the family members themselves, Scobie pulls back the curtain on an institution in turmoil to show what the monarchy must change in order to survive," it adds.
Omid recently seemingly addressed speculation about his connection to Meghan. He wrote on X: "Let's get this nonsense out the way - #ENDGAME is about the current state of the British Royal Family. It's not 'Harry and Meghan's book', I'm not 'Meg's pal', the Sussexes have nothing to do with it, their story is a small part of a much bigger one."
