It’s official. The satin midaxi skirt is the official festive uniform for fashion fans. First it was Sienna Miller, then Frankie Bridge, and now, Rochelle Humes has stepped out in one of the slinky numbers on today’s episode of This Morning.
Viewers only needed to catch a glimpse of the former Saturdays singer on the show before rushing to her stylist’s Instagram accounts for the details. And celebrity fashion expert Amber Jackson didn’t disappoint, revealing that both her skirt and top were from the high street.
Sharing Rochelle’s taupe-toned look to her followers, she wrote: “It’s giving mochachino” with fans quick to comment on the outfit, writing “I’m watching now and I came straight to your feed to find the deets!! Perfect Christmas outfit.” Another agreed, commenting: “Love it! Perfect for party season.”
Both pieces are from none other than millennial favourite Topshop, which is now sold online at ASOS after its physical stores closed in 2021. Rochelle wore the Topshop satin bias maxi skirt in mushroom, which costs £38, pairing it with the Topshop twist front long sleeve top in taupe (£30) for a classy, monochrome look.
Her hair looked gorgeous slicked back into a low bun, showing off her silver earrings which tied in with her metallic heels.
The skirt, available in sizes 4-18, is cut from satin-style, silky-smooth fabric, boasting an elastic waistband which makes it the ultimate Christmas Day pick. Meanwhile, the top has a stunning twist detailing which makes it look more expensive than its £30 tag would suggest.
Last week in an interview with The Mail, Amber revealed her secrets for dressing the star for the daytime show. She said she usually looks for ‘rigid materials that don't crease’ as the presenters need to 'look the same at 12.30pm as they did at 10am’. The pair also typically opt for neutral colours and clean cuts, creating something of a signature look for the star.
It’s not the only festive fit Rochelle has sported this week, either. On Monday, the This Morning presenter stepped out onto the sofa in the Red Rib Long Sleeve Bodycon Midi Dress from River Island. The figure-hugging red dress comes in a gorgeous ribbed fabric that won’t crease, and is stretchy enough to wear as you sit down for Christmas dinner. Elevating the piece is a structured V-neckline held in place with gold hardware, as well as long fluted sleeves that add interest to the silhouette.
Other party-ready looks we’ve loved this week include Charlene White’s gold glittering cardigan from M&S and metallic skirt combo, Frankie Bridge’s River Island ‘dressy knit of dreams’ as well as Vogue Williams’ £25 jumper that’s great if you’re into your silvery tones.
But if it’s Rochelle’s look you’re wanting to recreate this Christmas, you can shop her skirt and top here on ASOS.
