UPDATE: Samsung has now officially confirmed the release of the Galaxy S23 FE which includes a triple-lens camera, speedy screen and fast processor for under £600. We've got full details about this device here.

ORIGINAL STORY: If you've fancied treating yourself to a new Galaxy S23 smartphone but have been put off by its premium price - good news could be on its way. Rumours have been rife for months that Samsung is bringing back its popular FE (Fan Edition) range of devices and it seems a smartphone with this branding will be unveiled tomorrow, September 4.

The last time Samsung launched a Fan Edition phone was actually all the way back in January 2022 with the arrival of the S21 FE.

For some reason, the Galaxy S22 never got this makeover but that doesn't appear to be the case this year and a release could be coming very soon.

Samsung's Indian social team has posted a message on X (formally Twitter ) that shows the back of a device with the words "The New Epic, Launching October 4."

If Samsung follows tradition then the S23 FE should come packed with some big specs but at a much smaller price than its flagship sibling.

In fact, one report from mysmartprice suggests this new device could start from around $599 (£500) making it around $200 cheaper than the standard model.

Despite that low price, you can expect plenty of decent upgrades including a triple-lens rear camera, speedy Exynos processor, fast charging and long battery life.

Other rumours suggest owners will be treated to a 6.4in screen with a snappy 120Hz refresh rate - that's twice as fast as the 60Hz screen found on the latest iPhone 15.

There's currently no word on what time the launch will take place or, more importantly, if the S23 FE will be coming to the UK.

Other models have arrived on these shores so there's no reason why this latest upgrade won't be coming to Britain.

Mirror Online will bring you all the news about the Galaxy S23 FE just as soon as we get it.
