The vast majority of Android call makers, including the Galaxy S23, currently rely on Snapdragon chips to do everything from sending messages and processing images to running AI and other meaty software.
The last time a Snapdragon chip was launched (the Gen 2 processor), some tasks on an Android device got a 25% speed boost and it's likely that we will see a similar jump when the new brain is unveiled on Tuesday.
So even phones that are top-of-the-range right now won't be for very long, as this processor is sure to make its way into new devices from the start of next year.
The full details of the new Gen 3 processor are still yet to be announced but all will be revealed at the Snapdragon Summit on Tuesday, October 24.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 currently uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which has a significant advantage in terms of gaming power and battery performance.
It's what makes it possible for the S23 to have AI-powered autofocus, facial recognition, and on-device AI capabilities.
There are rumours that not all versions of the Galaxy S24 will get the latest Snapdragon with it thought Samsung's flagship will get a mix of both Qualcomm and Exynos processors.
Mirror Online is in Hawaii and will bring you all the news as it happens from the Snapdragon Summit so watch this space if you love all things Android.
