Time to cancel that Audible subscription—as Spotify is about to bring free audiobooks to Premium members across the UK.

The popular music streaming app has announced that, on top of the podcasts it already offers, it will begin rolling out more than 150,000 audiobooks to existing members.

You'll be able to listen to up to 15 hours of audiobooks every month with the option to buy extra 10-hour slots. Just look for any audiobooks marked as 'Included in Premium' on the Spotify app on iPhone or Android.

Premium subscribers will even be able to download audiobooks to listen to offline, while those of you who listen to podcasts on Spotify will be glad to see the return of the Sleep Timer feature.

Audiobooks will be available on Spotify from tomorrow, October 4

There's a pretty decent selection to start off with, including audiobooks from J. R. R. Tolkein, Stephen King, Richard Osman and others. But this is set to be expanded further as time goes on.

A spokesperson for Spotify said: "Audiobooks in Premium means our users are now getting even more from their Premium subscription: an on-demand catalogue of more than 100 million tracks, five million podcasts, and over 150,000 audiobooks.

"The seamless user experience and the lack of barrier to entry will allow more listeners to try out audiobooks alongside their favourite podcasts and albums."

The audiobooks will be available via the Spotify app from tomorrow, October 4th, meaning you don't have to wait long to get started.

With an Audible subscription starting at £7.99 per month, Spotify's new offering could save you a decent amount of money if you're a fan of listening to your books.
